Wyevale Garden Centre Case Study
Wyevale Garden Centre
Wyevale Garden Centres has a long and established history in the gardening industry, with around 5,000 staff and 150 centres across England and Wales – a number which continues to grow.
Contego commenced work with them in 2011 to supply selected branches with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Due to recommendation and a readiness to work closely with customers over their exacting demands this relationship developed quickly and in 2012, Contego became the group’s preferred PPE supplier.
In 2014, when Wyevale developed a new national identity, this included a total re-branding programme. The group uniform was central to the whole branding process. The design team at Contego worked tirelessly with the marketing team at Wyevale to produce a new uniform, embracing the new corporate identity and the operational needs of the staff.
Contego won the contract for the complete rebrand, based on reputation, quality, value for money, consistency and supply chain ability. These are all vital components of any rebrand project.
The bespoke uniform was created to ensure it was both fit for purpose, as well as reflecting the company’s exciting new corporate identity. The collection included coats, shirts, polo shirts, ties, scarves, sweatshirts and fleeces.
The initial roll out included 46000 items across 40 product lines, all individually packed and collated for the 145 centres. This was all managed by the Contego team and Contego resources in a timely and organised manner. Contego continue to fully manage the supply chain. By mid-2017, over 17,000 orders had been shipped to staff in Wyevale Garden Centres all over the UK, which included around 250,000 items of uniform.
